Scott Holmes, CMI

Scott Holmes is a board certified medical illustrator specializing in illustration and design for the scientific and medical community.

 

After working at The University of Texas (McGovern) Medical School at Houston for over a decade, he joined the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in 2011 where he continues to work in a wide range of applications including surgical illustration, print and digital publishing, graphic design, video, scientific illustration.

 

Holmes has recently been involved in the newly defined specialty of spino-plastic reconstruction. Spino-plastics combines neurosurgery and orthopedic care team members with plastic surgeons to improve patient outcomes using the latest advances and innovations in spinal surgery, including pedicled bone grafting, free tissue transfer, allograft and autograft arthrodesis. He has been fortunate to be included in the early-published findings as both illustrator and co-author.
